Interior Functional Designer

This is an immediate job opening for the position of Interior Functional Designer in this corporation to perform the following job duties: 

• Conduct site visits and client interviews to gather information about the project scope, budget, timeline, and design expectations, and to understand clients’ requirements, preferences, and objectives for the interior space. 

• Considering factors such as traffic flow, circulation patterns, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, and ergonomic considerations to create efficient and user-friendly interior environments, and to develop spatial layouts and floor plans that optimize the use of available space while meeting the functional needs of occupants. 

• Conceptualize design ideas and develop creative concepts that reflect the client’s vision, brand identity, and design goals, create mood boards, sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design concepts and present design proposals to clients for review and approval. 

• Create CAD designs and detailed briefs for supervisors, contractors, and workers in compliance with the California Building Code. 

• Research and evaluate materials for durability, sustainability, aesthetics, and compatibility with the overall design scheme, and select appropriate materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures that align with the design concept, budget, and performance requirements of the project. 

• Overseeing the purchasing process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project. 

• Under the supervision of the CEO/licensed CE, collaborate with professional engineers and architects, and hire contractors, vendors, and coordinate with other project stakeholders to coordinate the implementation of design plans and ensure seamless integration of architectural, engineering, and interior elements. 

• Oversee and monitor the construction progress and ensure that the design specifications are implemented according to plans and specifications. 

• Arrange client visits and keep involved stakeholders apprised of the progress. 

• Prepare project schedules, budgets, contracts, and other documentation, and maintain detailed records of project activities, correspondences, and changes for reference and accountability, and ensure project completion within the allocated budget and timeline. 

The qualified candidate must have a Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architectural Engineering or Architecture, or a foreign degree equivalent. Need to visit clients’ project sites, mostly located in Southern California.
