Architecture
Making a difference in the communities we serve
Architecture existed as soon as the first humans began to construct buildings that were expected to last for more than a few days. The town of Jericho is usually quoted as the earliest known permanently built settlement, circa about 8000 BC and covering 10 acres. However, the earliest surviving written work on the subject of architecture as a discipline is De architecture, by the Roman architect Vitruvius in the early 1st century AD. Vitruvius wrote that a good building should satisfy the three principles of firmness, commodity, and delight. Putting it in modern terms, a good building should demonstrate durability – a building should be strong and remain in good condition; utility – it should be suitable for the purposes for which it is used, and beauty – it should be aesthetically pleasing.
At Infrastructure Engineers we incorporate these principles of architecture into every design we produce, whether the project is a commercial building façade redesign or a highly specified laboratory. Infrastructure Engineers’ staff have designed and managed a wide range of projects from small specialty labs to +100,000 SF manufacturing tenant improvements.
We provide a broad range of architectural and facility design services to meet the needs of both municipal and private contractors alike.
